About Us Jacobson Associates, Inc. Jacobson Associates, Inc. is owned by Pauline Walsh Jacobson and Julian "Kent" Jacobson of Austin, Texas. The company was founded by Pauline in 1983, and originally provided drafting, cartography and graphic design services to businesses in Austin and the surrounding area, and within 3 years had grown to 10 people. In 1987, an opportunity came along for Pauline to open an office in Austin for Graphics Information Technologies, Inc., and to manage the creation of a computerized map of the land boundaries in the State of Texas. Pauline closed Jacobson Associates to take on this exciting project. Jacobson Associates, Inc. lay dormant for several years, but took on a new life in 1992 to develop and market a photographic travel guide on CD ROM, "CDIslands® Presents The British Virgin Islands" (discontinued). The company has grown from marketing a single product offering to over 3000 tropical island pictures available as digital stock photography for business use and personal use, and for creating prints to decorate homes and offices. Although the majority of the photographs on the web site were taken by Pauline, Kent gets credit not only for his own photos, but for the many times he has acted as the "spotter" on dives, finding subjects for Pauline to shoot. |
